10" x 9" Acrylic on Canvas, Gallery Painted (edges are painted, needs no frame)
The colours of history—faded paint, weathered metals—these are food for a painter’s soul! I’ve often been the recipient of strange looks & shaking of heads when observed by passers-by, deeply engrossed in sketching & photographing none other than a ‘boring’ doorknob or latch, or especially beautiful section of peeling & weathered paint on a boat or building! This old brass doorknocker is on a beautiful weathered red door in the village of Stornoway, Isle of Lewis.
