The pattern of light & shadow in this lapstraight hull beached at Catterline hooked me – something about these handmade wooden fisher craft speaks worlds, reminding one of the patience & ingenuity of those who crafted them & of the hard living of those dependent on them for a living & for sustenance. Catterline is a tiny village hundreds of years old on Scotland’s NE coast with a colourful history. It has been recognized as an active artists’ colony for most of the 20th century.
